Enjoying a hot cup of tea at the break of day is always a peaceful way to start the morning. Especially when the day ahead promises to be full of back to back meetings and phone calls.
Dreaming of putting the stress of corporate life behind me, I would indulge in tea, not only enjoying a cup in the morning, but also learning about tea. I enjoyed knowing where it came from and the best way to brew tea.
Finally, in 2015, I made the decision to put me first and leave corporate America. Feeling residual from radiation therapy and constant headaches, I decided to give my body and mind a much needed rest.
Semi-retired and needing a purpose, my curiosity about whether or not I could be successful in the tea business grew within. I started researching the health benefits of tea for me, personally. I began drinking hibiscus tea on a regular basis because of its benefits on the immune system.
To keep myself busy, I decided to try to sell the tea in Florida where it's always hot and people are always appreciative of an iced-cold beverage.I started in a small farmer’s market near Tampa and on the first day, my tea sold out before the market day ended. The "Hibiscus Rose Punch" tea was most definitely appreciated and loved by all.
The small company grew to sell in other markets around central Florida, until I was needed in California ,where my sister lives in the desert. As time went on, I decided to relaunch Tea Time Beverages in San Diego instead of moving back East. Learning a new way of eating by surrounding myself with health-conscious people, my passion about the health benefits of tea also grew. Attending workshops and networking to learn about tea, I now offer over 25 premium and organic blends of teas. I also speak to groups on all topics around tea.
Believing that tea has played a vital role in my improved health, I stay passionate about sharing what I’ve learned to make a difference in as many lives as possible.
